Security & privacy

Your domain. Your mail. No ads.

What we say about your domain, your data and who can see your mail.

Your own domain

Mailboxes live on your company’s own domain. Navigatu does not give out @navigatu.com mailboxes, so the address on every message is yours.

No ads

Navigatu does not show ads. It is a paid service, priced per user per month.

A verified account first

A domain can be connected only to an account that has been verified.

Limited sending during the trial

During the 7-day trial, an account can send mail only to recipients it has approved: up to 10 addresses, and up to 50 sent mails a day.

Encrypted in transit

TLS for our apps, website and API. Between mail providers, TLS whenever the other server supports it.

Encrypted at rest

Stored mail is encrypted at rest with AWS-managed encryption.

Where your mail is stored

Your mail is stored on AWS, in the Mumbai region (ap-south-1), India.

Keeping and deleting mail

  • Trash is emptied after 30 days.
  • When you delete an account, your content is deleted when the 24-hour window closes, then permanently erased 30 days later.
  • We make no promise about backups of your mail.

Who can see your mail

Navigatu staff can never see a customer’s mail without the customer’s permission. When permission is given, access is time-bound, happens with the customer’s knowledge, and covers only the mails the customer selected.
  • Every time staff view a mail it is logged, and the customer can see that log.
  • Access ends when its time runs out, or earlier if the customer revokes it.
  • Staff never see any other mail, and never see anything without a live grant. There is no other way in, including for administrators.
  • When a customer grants access, they choose how long it lasts: 1, 24 or 72 hours, with 24 as the default.
